SOVAR’s mission is to develop commercial applications of expertises and discoveries made in research laboratories of Université Laval, CHUQ and CHRG. SOVAR also offers its services to research centers, which are not currently members of the limited partnership. In close cooperation with researchers, SOVAR assesses the commercial potential of research results and discoveries, elaborates projects to demonstrate the technological and commercial viability of the selected technologies and develop financial strategies, which are likely to attract the interest of financial or industrial partners in the development of these innovations.

SOVAR’s challenge is to fill the gap between the university research environment and the end users of the technologies.
