A SOVAR-SUPPORTED START-UP AWARDED FIRST PRIZE BY THE JURY OF THE ‘’GÉNIES EN AFFAIRES’’ COMPETITION
On Thursday, September 22, 2016, in the Hall of Honour of the Roger-Gaudry Building at Université de Montréal, the National Finals of the Génies en Affaires competition were held as part of the Journées de la relève en recherche organized by Acfas. SOVAR congratulates the young entrepreneurs of ‘’Électronique organique Brilliant Matters’’, a new company spun off of Université Laval research for nabbing the first prize awarded by a jury composed of entrepreneurs and Quebec venture capitalists.
The Génie en Affaires competition offers students the opportunity to conceive, learn and develop innovative ideas and establish a business plan under the mentorship of experts in engineering and technology development. In fact, the final phase of the competition provided the opportunity to present cutting-edge technology projects to the general public and to feature the talents of innovators as well as their potential to effect societal change.
